The National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, together with its state and local member programs, supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child in the United States can be safe, have a permanent home and the opportunity to thrive.

​

CASA/GAL volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA/GAL volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.

Independent research has demonstrated that children with a CASA/GAL volunteer are substantially less likely to spend time in long-term foster care and less likely to reenter care.

Celebrating Christmas at the Hope Academy Hatyai in Hat Yai, Thailand is a always very festive and happy event - and this year, a special gift was given to guests to spread a message of hope and the Love that always wins.

With the help of Khun Nani Amsterdam, Dr. Gregg Tyler Milligan donated 60 copies of his first book, A Beauiful World, Thai Language Edition to the Academy's guests.

The festivities were merry and bright with the wonderful people, friends and family of the Hope Academy leaders and staff!  They sent a very special greeting to Dr. Gregg Tyler Milligan.  Click here to see the video greeting.

Dr. Gregg Tyler Milligan donated 100 copies of his first book, A Beauiful World, Thai Language Edition to two schools in Thailand, Wat Phra Yat and Wat Karnham Schools. 

Dr. Milligan visited the school to convery a special thank you to the teachers/educators at Wat Phra Yat and Wat Karnham Schools for their support in bringing a message of hope to youth by making the book available to their students.
